Production in our bakery runs at full speed year after year for what is probably the sweetest temptation of the Christmas season. We bake Dresdner Stollen – a regional specialty – according to a traditional recipe and with an unmistakable taste. You can also enjoy almond stollen, poppy seed stollen and Milanese stollen from Bäckerei & Konditorei Laube! We use only the best ingredients and leave nothing to chance in the production process to ensure that our stollen tastes great. Already during the processing of the stollen dough we combine traditional craftsmanship with the use of modern baking technology. The golden seal of approval from the Dresden Stollen Association confirms the high quality and authenticity of our Dresden Christmas Stollen – year after year! Our Dresdner Christstollen have carried the golden seal of quality for many years – an award that we at Laube Bakery & Confectionery are very proud of.
Baked with love
After the Dresden Stollen has left the oven, it is given its fine coating. Using melted butter as a base not only makes the sweet powdered sugar coating of the stollen a success. It also underlines the taste of the stollen – the popular Christmas baking specialty. Enjoy Stollen from our bakery in the run-up to Christmas and Advent, on Christmas Eve and beyond. The stollen tastes best when it is allowed to mature for a while. You can achieve this with your stollen purchase with a lead time of around 2-3 weeks before the first planned cutting. You can buy our Stollen conveniently online in the Stollen Shop or in one of our branches in Dresden and the surrounding area. Our recommendations for your stollen enjoyment
- If possible, keep your stollen in its original packaging.
- The stollen should be stored in a cool place at a room temperature of 3 to 10 degrees Celsius.
- Good humidity (50-70%) prevents the tunnel from drying out too quickly.
Stollen specialties for every taste
In addition to the popular Dresdner Christstollen, we also produce other delicious stollen specialties in our bakery. Chocolate lovers can look forward to Milanese stollen with cocoa glaze, raisins and almonds. Our almond stollen from our own production has all the fine flavors for the best stollen enjoyment. Enjoy the stollen variant without raisins, for which we use a mix of the finest sweet and bitter almonds. The poppy seed stollen is also baked at Laube according to a traditional recipe.
We cultivate the stollen tradition
Would you have known? The first documentary reference to the gallery dates back to 1329. The Bishop of Naumburg is said to have commissioned two elongated wheat loaves to celebrate the birth of Christ. Today, stollen is part of Christmas celebrations in many families – whether as Dresden Christmas stollen, Milan stollen, poppy seed stollen or almond stollen. Look back with us on many years of stollen tradition and at the same time continue to write the history of stollen with us. At Laube, traditional recipes and modern bakery craftsmanship always go hand in hand.
